When Sylvia Clark from Wairau Valley in Blenheim was in need of a desperate update to her bathroom, she called in the experts at Cowan Building.

“I had been looking at my grotty bathroom for some time, it doesn’t get much use as I tend to use the ensuite more, so it was turning into a rubbish room,” Sylvia says. “It was so dark and uninviting always giving the impression of being cold.”

Sylvia wanted to cheer up the dated space and make it fun with a splash of colour and quality fixtures and fittings while fitting in with the style of the home.

“I have my own style which is a mixture of old and new.”

The results speak for themselves. The once dark and uninviting space have been transformed into a light and bright bathroom. Updating the vanity and shower to add that modern touch, while the stunning tiling inside the shower gives a striking focal point to the room.

The bath and tapware also had a makeover and gives a sleek and sophisticated feel. Combining this alongside the paint choice, brings this bathroom to life.

“I wanted a total new bathroom suite, new tiles and paint,” Sylvia says. “As it is a Glenroy house this involved some minor building work.”

Sylvia is thrilled with the outcome and the whole process of updating her bathroom. The single toilet was also transformed with matching paint, a new vanity and toilet.

“Cowan Building are great to work with and Clayton was able to give quite a bit of advice and obviously knew the best way to go about things,” she says.

““All the workmen who came were absolutely charming and hard workers, they were great with my 4 dogs and didn’t mind them in the least.””

Communication was also key, with Cowan Building keeping in close contact with Sylvia to ensure the end result was exactly what she had dreamt of.

“Clayton kept in touch the whole time and was easily accessible by phone if I had any questions,” Sylvia says. “He would also call in regularly to check that the work was going well.”
